Assasins
Show visuals at Sheffield Crucible
For the opening of a new run of Steven Sondheim's 1970 musical theatre
piece, Assasins, at the Crucible in Sheffield, a new stage was constructed
which incorporated over 20 television screens. I was asked to provide
animated material for these screens. Art Directed by Yeast
Culture, the visuals were designed to be operated by the show's
lighting technician. The work was devised to sychronise with the
script, and so act as part of a dynamic scenery design. |

Jamie
Cullum tour interactive graphics
Several
linear animations were commissioned by Yeast
Productions for use during Jamie
Cullum's 'Catching Tales' tour, which runs from October 2005 to
March 2006. The animation that accompanied the track "My
Yard" featured butterflys that would create the illusionary spectacle
of a magic garden. "Mindtrick"
featured musical instruments treated in impossible ways in a variety
of locations.
One of the interactive elements of the show included a graphic
forest that would grow if Jamie was serenading it. If there were
no serinade, the forest would start to recede... |

HMPos
1.01
A collaboration with the
art class inmates at Exeter Prison, HMPos 1.01 was an animation commissioned
by Animated
Exeter, Exeter
Prison, and Spacex
Gallery, Exeter. The animation was to be displayed next to a Jodi.org
exhibition at Spacex Gallery, which had a great impact on the direction
of the storyboard. Nevertheless, Exeter inmates were able to develop
a complex and layered story about their experiences. |
