The detail

Multimap has been working with LBi over a number of years to work on the continuous process of defining the user experience of their mapping technology.

As an ad - based business model, ease of use is paramount to growing consumer loyalty and value for sponsors.

I led the user experience design of a number of new features to emerge from Microsoft technology after a merger in 2008.

One of the reasons many people use mapping sites is to print out driving directions. Among other improvements, I advised on a system of printed journey legs and mini maps to help drivers when they need it most - at the beginning and end of the journey, where the terrain is unknown and the directions are complicated.

I also designed Multimap's unique way of navigating birds eye view images, where the user can point to anywhere on a map to view the relevant 3 dimensional image.
